Hi, we're so glad you're
visiting.
Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.
The CFP Forum is officially "inactive"
-- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it. All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.
I was wondering if we could have a rodent sections for small and furries such as rats, mice, hamsters etc. Thanks!

Clara please please please take your sweet hamster off of that bedding! Cedar kills small pets!!!!! There are phenols in soft woods that kill them. You need to use a safe bedding such as Carefresh or aspen shavings. I don't want your sweet hammy to die.
Thanks for the info. Even though I don't have any pets that need shavings, one article mentioned how toxic cedar and pine are to cats too!! It is nice to belong to a group where we can offer and share our advice and expertise with each other.

Thank u so much someone last night told me the same thing and gave me links to read up on it, I did not know my hubby is running out this morn. as soon as the pet store opens and getting either aspen or carefresh, im so upset we did not know and the lady in the pet store told us that was the best, we believed her. Again thank u so much
I Cant believe that pet stores still sell it. and tell u that that kind is the best, makes me very angry. They should teach their workers everything they need to know about all the pets they sell JMO
Sorry, the pic didn't show up. But I believe you switched her bedding lol! Unfortunately most pet store employees know nothing about small animals and what to feed etc.

Rodents make wonderful pets. I have chinchillas and guinea pigs and wouldn't want to miss them anymore. Yes, there are still many misconceptions about rodents and the care they need, so with a little help from each other we can learn how to take the best possible care of our furry friends.
