Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

hey we had the coolest strangest thing happen here yesterday, there were some members of PETA and one of them got naked painted like a tiger and got in a cage. she protested all day because of the Ringling Brothers Circus coming to town. I don't think I personally would get naked to protest but I think they must really be passionate about this.
according to our news there is tape of the circus abusing and even killing an animal but the news did not show the tape because they say it is not proven that it is actually this cirus. I hope their not abusing animals but will not spend my money on the tickets just incase they are.

Guess, we all have our own ways of protesting! (If I got naked, EVERYONE would protest, and I'd end up in a POLICE CAGE!(JAIL) Paint or NO PAINT! No matter which Circus it is, I believe that it's abuse. The amount of animal abuse that actually gets "caught" is very, very small, compared to what actually is done to these poor animals. The workers who abuse animals(and get caught) get fired from one & go to another Circus. It is a "community on wheels" and the workers rarely go into another "FIELD"(sad fact for the next bunch of animals) I can't even Imagine what it would be like for an animal to be "On The Road" all the time. No wonder sometimes they go nuts! If an animal can't relax and act natural all the time I think it's cruelity. If an undomesticated animal, WAS MEANT to be on the road all the time, he/she would have been born with wheels instead of paws. Humans CHOSE to get road fatigue, Animals don't! They can have Circus without Wild animals. We have kinder & gentler, more natural habitat settings at wild life parks & modern Zoo, let us go see them! Tell you the truth, I am more entertained seeing animals "being animals" than seeing them acting & doing "tricks".

I suspected the last circus I took the kids too the animals were abused and under feed. at that point made a decision not to support that kind of stuff.

Some of you may have seen this on Animal Planet. It was about two elephants that ended up on an elephant sactuary and it seemed they knew each other. Background checks found that they had belonged to this circus some 20 years before and the old cow had taken the calf under her wing, so to speak. Both had been badly treated, and one, I don't remember which, had even had her leg broken. One was sold and it had been many many years since they saw each other, but they did rememver. They had both lead such horrible, miserable lives until they hit that sanctuary, and now they are never apart.

wow thats awesome it's like they remember things just like us. I don't think Dogs remember things for too long. but when I had Sugar Gliders I once read that they never forget. were these elephants from Ringling brothers or another circus? I'd much rather just see the animals in their own habitat rather than see them whipped until they do some dumb trick. yes children think it's neat but what are we teaching them? how many kids will go home and try to hit their pets to act out what they have seen in the circus. Then what are the parents going to do? we're gong to punish the children for acting out what they have seen. I think the clown acts are funny at times and they have enough people doing tricks I'm sure they don't really need all those animals.
