Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

Atheist father cannot sue over use of 'Under God' -- sorry if I offend any atheists reading this -- but, as a Christian, I'm so glad the Court dismissed it. banana The full pledge will continue to be recited in the nation's public schools. Smile

THE PLEDGE
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

According to our paper, it can be back in court soon. Was only dismissed because the dad did not have custody of the kid. You could say we won the battle, but haven't won the war yet. I don't think it should be up to the court--it should be left to vote by the people. If more voted against it, well, to darn bad. But I think it would stay because I have yet to talk to anyone who wanted it removed. And why should just a few be able to take away from so many?

The Judges that ruled previously were making laws, which is not their job. The are not Legislators, which are Elected. The ACLU has an agenda, and they helped this"NON-Custodial" Father to Bully his EX- Wife, who has legal Custody of the Minor child( a lil girl) both the lil girl & her mother are Christians. This Country is letting our Nation's Heritage be stripped from us. If we stay silent about things like this, these Historical Rights will be gone forever, it is Our Birthright!

Saw in todays paper that that guy is going to try to get the case in court again. I really think that something like this that involves every person in America does not need to be decided by a few sitting on a bench. It needs to be decided BY THE PEOPLE via votes. One of the ones really fighting for this action is the judge who refused the 10 commandments from the court house and was put out of a job for refusing to do so. Seems to me that the 10 commandments are just like the laws in the books--if you obey them, then only piddly things are left for cops--speeding, etc. So what is wrong with having them in the court hous or anywhere for that matter.

He can try all he wants to get the case into court again but I don't think he'll succeed. Roll Eyes I saw a survey on CNN where 92% were voting YES to keeping the Pledge as is. Big Grin

And that is EXACTLY it needs to be left up to the voters, not just a few sitting on that bench. I remember reading somewhere a few years back that some were protesting our national anthem saying it 'glorified war", talking about bombs, etc. I thought they must have never really read the words or listened to the song. It was not glorifing war--it is asking a question about our flag and country--is the American flag still flying despite everything? If so America is still it's own country. We would still be the free nation. I guess some people have to raise a fuss about everything.

If People, DID NOT STAND UP AND FIGHT TO KEEP America FREE in the past, we would not even be having this conversation! The Songs, the pledge and the 10 commandments are all to remind us, who we are & where we came from, so we know which way to go. All laws were based on the 10 commandments. they were simple & direct.(UNLIKE most that are on the books today) They were fair & impartial-again UNLIKE most of today's laws. They were non-conflicting, unlike those today. Even a child could understand them, UNLIKE those today. So why are some people wanting to get rid of them today.....cuz they tell us that we are doing something wrong....people don't like that! So if you get rid of the 10 commandments, there is no RIGHT & WRONG! Where ELSE IS IT SO CLEARLY WRITTEN, THAT AMERICA has allowed Immorality to Rule. GET RID of the RULER, and you can't see how far you've missed "the Mark"! We have allowed them to take away, Prayer in school, the Bibles out of some courtrooms, the 10 commandments out of the classrooms and the courts. The Pledge (using God's Name) for a time, in our part of the country. The 10 commandment monument in a courthouse was taken out of a lobby & placed in a "closet"(what was it that just came out of a closet), not too long ago.??? Sounds like a "BAD TRADE" to me! The 10 commandments never gave anyone a case of a "fatal disease"-hopefully a case of conscience!

Amen Rosemary. I still get goosbumps looking at the American Flag and if the anthem is played at the same time, I get tears--tears of joy. SOOOO many have died to keep us free. And to me freedom is being allowed to say ONE NATION UNDER GOD. of in the case of those who do not wish to, they can skip that part. BUT why DENY us that want to, right?
