How many of you watched 60 Minutes II last night? I was sickened by what I saw. Our soldiers mistreating Iraqi prisoners. In case you didn't see this show, several soldiers are coming up for court martial after pictures were passed around. One picure showed a hooded iraqi on a box with wires hooked to him. He had been told if he moved or got off the box he would be electocuted. There were( blurred private areas)pictures of naked iraqi men forced in sexual poses with each other and American soldiers, including a woman, were standing there laughing, plain as day in the pictures. This is sickening behavior and what kind of image of the American's does it show the iraqi people? It would make them feel they had traded one kind of monster for another. At least one being held for court martial is an officer. I just couldn't believe what I was seeing. Amercians don't behave like this. And seeing at least one woman in on it was even worse.

I know it is rough on them being over there and with all the snipers and crazy sucide bombers, etc. BUT still to act like this is unthinkable as far as I am concerned.

I can understand the stress our soldiers are under, but nothing justifies that type of behavior towards another human being. I missed the program due to work, but -- in a way -- I'm glad I didn't see it. I would have also been sickened by it.

I missed it and I'm glad, that is sickening and Yes Americans are like that, there are people like that in all countries.

and MUCH WORSE! I don't guess you ladies have ever seen footage of what happened to our men & WOMEN, when in the enemy hands. I AM NOT DEFENDING what they did or didn't do, far from it! But Welcome to the real world! THIS is Nothing compared to What THE TERRORIST, HAVE, ARE & WILL DO TO OUR SOLDIERS & CIVILIANS! NOT ONLY THESE TERRORISTS, but all of the Enemies of our country. If you didn't like what you saw, don't watch what happens to the Israeli Children when a bomb goes off, or how Hezbollah deals with Israeli Military, civilians or Children. I DON'T WANT TO GO ANY FATHER WITH THIS, ALTHOUGH I could get Graphic about torture tactics that Sadam used, makes this look very Innocent. I again am not saying that we should stoop to any of their levels. BUT, I AM SAYING TO RESERVE YOUR JUDGEMENTS, let the Military Judge Advocates do their Job. There are cases like this FAR & FEW inbetween involving our Military. WAR IS HELL & IT DOES STRANGE THINGS TO PEOPLE. THE COMBAT SITUATIONS are Horrible & unless you have had a very, very connection with it, you REALLY DON"T HAVE A CLUE! IF we have another 9-11 type incident(maybe with WMD-dirty bombs) on our soil, & your loved ones are victims, let me know how you would deal with one of the terrorists(If you could get your hands on them!) Our Military for the most part show a great deal of restraint, when dealing with these terrorists & and are under incredible conditions. Ones that would BLOW OUR MINDS! I have watched the Israeli Military for a very long time, and am totally amazed at their Discipline. BTW- THE TERRORISTS that are poring into Iraq EVERY DAY from ALL OVER THE OTHER ARAB NATIONS(IRAN< SYRIA<SAUDI Arabia, Egypt etc etc.) DON'T KNOW WHAT THE GENEVA CONVENTION is! Think about what I said about what I said about another attack, it's not IF, It's WHEN! There are some terrible things coming, we need to brace ourselves. The hostages that came back could tell you, that much worse things happen to them. There was more than one prisoner taken, some are still alive and some are dead(who can't tell you what happened to them) but "chopped up, mutilated body parts" tell what happened. Some haven't been found yet! Americans for the most part haven't lived in an era of TERROR, only the OLDER ones can tell what happened in times past. Pearl Harbor wasn't on the Main Land, so our personal observations are limited(for the average US Citizen) If some terrible Massache happens in a 2-3rd world country, we can change the channel. Soon it maybe on our frontdoor step. People in other countries, who have gone through "shock & awe" decade after decade, understand FEAR & LIVING with it on a daily basis. They think that we AMERICANS & (Canadians too) are Spoiled & Ignorant. And they resent us for it. That is one reason, that they "mourned" WITH us on 9-11 and snickered & thought that we had it coming, behind our backs. Think it's not true if you want, BUT< through SATELITE, I watched their reaction on THEIR NEWS STATIONS! whatever, America lives in a "dream World" AND IT SEEMS THAT THE ONLY THING THAT WAKES US UP IS REAL LIFE HORROR Hope it doesn't have to be our Children,(Grand Babies) who have to pay for it! There are going to be some, I guess that some of you will disagree with what I say. That's a RIGHT that you have cuz of our Military fought for it! AS WELL AS ALL THE GENERATIONS of sons & daughters that have fought & sometimes died
defending!

One of these days, we will Get real! don't know what it will take! Dream worlds are not REAL WORLDS! I won't comment any further, I don't feel it would do any good! But, one of these days, REAL SOON you won't need my words. You will SEE it for yourselves. I'M DONE WITH IT!!!

Rosemary everything you have said is true, I hear the same thing from my husband a retired Marine, and my brother in law also, I can't live in fear of what is inevitable, but batton down the hatches, there are far worse things coming, I worry for my children and grandchildren.

well at least they didnt burn them or hang them on a tree like they did 2 our soldiers that time. its still wrong kinda but i dunno. i have mixed feelings.
