Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

I just read CBS Flagship Station is cancelling Martha Stewart's syndicated lifestyle television show. Incredible how all this has turned out. Yme I feel bad for her -- in a way -- because prison is a horrendous place for any human being to go to. The media seems to feel she might get jail time. What a mess.

I feel bad for poor Martha, I think she's being persecuted for being a strong female and because she's an easy scapegoat.

Poor Martha...I am sure she will have a nicely decorated cell tho Smile

I feel for her too Barbi. They want to push this off as justice being served but I'm not buying it. There is a double standard and they prosecute who they choose. I agree with what you said Lalania. She is an easy target. (or did you say scapegoat) What I would like to know is: does anyone have information about the guy (or girl) who leaked the information from the FDA. Seems to me, that this is the person who committed the crime by releasing classified information. Anyhow, I really hope she doesn't do jail time. But I do hope all this is causing her to think about where this world is at and to be looking for some answers.
All the best Martha. There is grace. Jesus died for your sin too!

I'M NOT GOING TO VOICE MY OPINION ON THIS ONE, BUT THE"MAN" INVOLVED IN THIS GOT 7 YEARS. SHE PLEA BARGAINED THE WORST CHARGE AWAY ALREADY. THIS IS OVER $50,000 which is what she gained. which is a drop in the bucket to her. THERE ARE MANDITORY SENTENCING ON THESE CRIMES-with that said, she can get from 18 mo & up. (I figured she'll make a movie & do another Book) FACT:There are victims in the "Insider trading Crime" it's people who can't afford to loose $50,000. And although these common folks can't afford to gamble this money & usually don't themselves, their "retirement plans" do.(for some employees it's not even OPTIONAL Participation, it's a mandatory plan(I know first hand about this) WHEN you WORK for 25 yrs. at one job, and the retirement plan invests in the stock market(MANDITORY WITHDRAWELS ARE MADE EVERY PAYCHECK) WHEN CROOKS PLAY THESE GAMES & THE STOCK BECOMES WORTHLESS!.... THERE'S VICTIMS.

I agree with you Rosemary, which is why I said I felt bad for her IN A WAY. Initially, I wasn't convinced of her guilt, but her secretary's testimony was so damaging. Seeing her daughter break down and cry at the trial was heart-wrenching though. I felt sorry for both of them. She should just have taken her stock losses since the amount of money would have hardly made a dent on her multi-million dollar financial statement.

If she has to go to jail, I just pray she remains safe. Everyone does stupid things at certain times in our life, and she's no exception, but I wouldn't wish her ever any harm. A jail cell must be horrendous place to be in. She needs prayer for peace and acceptance of what's to follow.

I pray that she has a change of Heart & Mind. They WILL HAVE TO PLACE HER IN PC(PROTECTIVE CUSTODY)otherwise they would Black Mail her relatives. Trust me, this may end up being"a REALITY WAKE-UP" for her.SOMETIMES IT TAKES, A "FALL" to make us LOOK UP! IT'LL BE UP TO HER. THE FEDS SYSTEM is better than the State(MY son worked both) and they don't call it "CLUB FED" FOR NOTHING. THE FED SYSTEM will wait until the CAMERAS GO AWAY, then they'll ease up on her. They can't risk anything to happen to her, she knows that. She'll probably end up 'SHOWING THEM A MORE EFFICIENT WAY OF DOING THINGS WHILE SHE'S THERE!' Let's face it, 90%+ of the world's population don't have clean runnung water or electricity. SHE'll HAVE BOTH! THE OLD SAYING IS THAT THEY GET"3 hots & a Cot" she'll have far more than that and get 12-16cents per hour for doing laundry(that will probably make her cry! Crying but there's women in the 3rd world countries that make less than that & have to carry the water for miles to do it.(and the only crime those women did was to be born in a poor country) Maybe Martha will think about how Blessed she was & how GREEDY she got! Maybe she'll spend $1000.00 to drill a well in a country where lil boys can't go to school cuz they have to carry water all day. MAYBE? Chuck COLSON & OLIVER NORTH had A Change of Heart WHILE IN THE Fed. Prison, they BOTH came out with a Servents' Heart, I hope she does too.

Rosemary, I was watching Larry King the other night and they were discussing this case. They had a guest who had been in a federal penitentary and something she said freaked me out. Maybe you know if it's true or not. It sounds unbelievable.

She said that every visitor the convict has (even her daughter) -- at every visit -- would be taken to a secluded area and strip-searched. I didn't find that strange, but what she said afterwards shocked me. She said the visitor would be asked to bend over and to show her private parts to make sure nothing was hidden there. Eek I find that flabbergasting!!

Just for the record Smile When I said they prosecute WHO THEY WILL, I wasn't referring to women more than men. What I meant about prosecuting who they will, is that there are much bigger fish who have been and still are doing greater damage and are being left unbothered. For one case which is absolutely dreadful because of what it implicates, it was reported on the national news briefly after the 9-11 attacks and Reuters news service and other places too that JUST DAYS PRIOR TO 9-11 there was a sudden and inexplicable selling of United Airline Stock to the tune of an excess of 100 million dollars. Coincidence??? Many sold short, in other words sold it for less than what it was worth, and there is a strong suspicion that they had prior knowledge of the attacks. What's going on with that investigation? This kind of insider trading was criminal of the worst sort since that means there was prior knowledge of this dreadful event and this knowledge was only used to preserve their fortunes. My personal opinion which I believe we are free to express here is that this Stewart case was just a smokescreen deluding people into thinking they are on the job getting the bad guys but Martha is just a tiny weeny fish. How about the big fish?

It's only God's justice that is no respector of persons and it is also without hypocricy. We Christians have a knowledge of this from the scriptures. One of my favorite verses though is "Mercy triumphs over judgment."James 2:13 and another one is:
"To the merciful I will show myself merciful." I choose to keep the mercy up front. It's good for my soul.

I'm waiting to hear back from my son on the FED's FEMALE VISITOR SEARCH PROCEEDURE, but I know what happens to the AZ STATE PRISON, FEMALE VISITORS- their car is inspected by officer & dogs, then their packages/purses/baby diaper bags etc. they are walked past 'DRUG DOGS' THEN THEY GO THRU A METAL DETECTOR. if 'PROBABLE CAUSE' warrents(fails one of the other checks) a female officer is called. THE FEMALE VISITOR IS GIVEN A CHOICE; PAT DOWN-with her clothes on, by a female officer OR SHE IS DENIED THE VISIT & has to leave the prison property IMMEDIATELY! IF she consents(WRITTEN) to the pat down, and AGAIN PROBABLE CAUSE IS ESTABLISHED. SHE is warned that she is subject to arrest, she has the opportunity to LEAVE< or the STRIP SEARCH. tHERE ARE SIGNS POSTED BEFORE YOU ENTER THE PRISON PROPERTY OF THE CONTRABAND ITEMS & RULES FOR SEARCHES, THERE ARE ALSO RULES FOR 'non-contact" visits. THE aforementioned proceedures were for "contact visits". There have been drugs/drug items & weapons taped to baby's bottoms(under diapers) also inside their body cavities(I know sick!)also smuggled inside female body cavities-in balloons then passed to convicts then ingested, one day &"passed thru" the convict & used on the "YARD"- You don't want to be around when a bunch of convicts "get high" or get a weapon on the yard. I'm sure if visitors 'DON'T WANT TO BE HUMILIATED" by the security proceedures, then they can have a "non contact visit" GLASS & TELEPHONE METHOD- TRUE THE CONVICTS GET STRIP SEARCHED- THEY TOO HAVE A CHOICE- no contact or DON'T GO TO PRISON. everyone's(STAFF & CONVICTS)SAFETY depends on GOOD SECURITY! BTW- SO IS THE PUBLIC'S SAFETY. I know that the ordinary citizen doesn't think about what can happen when drugs, weapons & other contraband items find their way into the JAIL/PRISON FACILITY, NOR DO THEY KNOW ALL of the WAYS to get these items in. TRUST ME, THERE'S VOLUMES written on this & new ways being developed all the time(they got 24/7 to think up new ways!) THERE ARE REALLY ONLY 3 WAYS THAT IT COMES IN: STAFF(uniformed & civilian), VISITORS, and inmates on work crews. MOST OF IT COMES IN WITH VISITORS. A PRISON FACILITY does have the right to call LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES, to detain/arrest ANYONE BRINGING FORBIDDEN ITEMS(CONTRABAND) onto PRISON GROUNDS.

My SON JUST CALLED, THE FED'S SEARCH PROCEEDURE IS CURRENTLY the same as AZ STATE's THE FEMALE INMATES( all are convicted felons) ARE STRIP SEARCHED and made to squat/spread. BUT AT THE SAME TIME, this also insures THEIR safety too.

She should have just taken the loss. But, as the old saying goes, the more you have the more you want. Since we don't have much, I guess we dont' want much. ha ha. But really, the justice system does kind of do strange things. One man kills and gets 10 years, another many steals and gets 20 years, both first time offenders. I have never been able to figure it out.

BARBI: FOR THE CONVICTS, HOPE IT DOES traumatize them! cuz WE HAVE TOO MANY REPEAT OFFENDERS!(like 90+% and up) The safety issure is sooo important- can you believe that convicts kill other convicts! "Contracts" are BIG TIME in prison, I'd rather be traumatized than DEAD! Hard drugs are very dangerous in Prisons. Also : about the airlines stock thing, some it was a RUMOR< some that was proved TRUE was amongst the SAUDIS' INVESTMENT GROUPS! imagine that! MOST PEOPLE DO NOT REALIZE HOW MUCH OF OUR LAND, BUSINESSES & INVESTMENTS ARE OWNED BY FOREIGN-EVEN HOSTILE FOREIGN INVESTORS!IMAGINE THAT!!! THEN IMAGINE THAT: BEN LADEN'S FAMILY, OWNS A BUNCH OF VALUABLE PROPERTY, COMPANIES ETC, HERE IN AMERICA AND are attending our colleges,(imagine the schooling & Tech. Info they are getting & thru the computer can get all the info they can HACK!) These relatives have supported Ben Laden also. AND what's harder for me to believe we GIVE AID MONEY TO YASSAR ARAPHAT (WHO GIVES MONEY & SUPPORTS TERROR GROUPS!) Eek ISRAEL ALSO GIVES A PORTION of taxes to THE PALESTINIAN GOVT. WHO IS ARAPHAT! WHO GIVES MONEY TO THE HAMAS! DUH! (the giving of tax money was in a written agreement written long ago- tHERE ARE SO MANY THINGS THAT ARE HARD TO UNDERSTAND THESE DAYS. Makes me wonder each time I see the statue representing JUSTICE!(the woman blindfolded-with the scales!) Keep thinking, yep, JUSTICE IS BLIND! BTW- HEARD on tv that there are STILL more charges PENDING on MARTHA!
