Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

CryingI died today,your puppy

Dear Mom and Dad,

I died today. You got tired of me and took me to the shelter. They
were overcrowded and I drew
an unlucky number. I am in a black plastic bag in a
landfill now. Some other puppy will get the barely used leash you
left. My collar was dirty and too
small, but the lady took it off before she sent me to the Rainbow
Bridge.

Would I still be at home if I hadn't chewed your shoe? I didn't know
what it was, but it was leather,
and it was on the floor. I was just playing. You forgot to get puppy
toys.

Would I still be at home if I had been housebroken? Rubbing my nose
in
what I did only made me
ashamed that I had to go at all. There are books and obedience
teachers that would have taught you
how to teach me to go to the door.

Would I still be at home if I hadn't brought fleas into the house?
Without anti-flea medicine, I
couldn't get them off of me after you left me in the yard for days.

Would I still be at home if I hadn't barked? I was only saying, "I'm
scared, I'm lonely, I'm here, I'm
here! I want to be your best friend."

Would I still be at home if I had made you happy? Hitting me didn't
make me learn how.

Would I still be at home if you had taken the time to care for me and
to teach manners to me? You
didn't pay attention to me after the first week or so, but I spent
all
my time waiting for you to love
me.

I died today.

Love,
Your Puppy Confused

Yes, it is Tiffany, but it happens thousands of times everyday. That is why I am so into rescue & try to get people to LEARN about their pets BEFORE they get them & after as well. If we take the time to UNDERSTAND about our Furbabies, we can prevent some of the problems & also deal with the problems after we get them. Pets & children are like blank sheets of paper at first, if there is something that is a problem with them, MOST OF THE TIME , IT'S CUZ WE CAUSED IT!BUT INSTEAD OF Learning about the problem & DEALING WITH the problem, we "get rid of it" (one way or the other)Yes, it's SAD!BUT love & understanding goes a long way! Wink sometimes WE expect PREFECTION(FROM our kids & pets)when we aren't perfect & may have ourselves caused the problem.

Crying That is heartbreaking but, unfortunately, a very sad reality. I know of at least 2 couples that are getting rid of their dogs just because the women are pregnant and they don't want dog hair around the baby. Frown It's really sad. That baby will miss out on the love of a fur-kid and the dog will probably wonder why his family got rid of him. Truly sad. Frown

Barbi funny you said that, remember the Weimi posts, that I did a few months ago(the whole list of them), well, one of those Weimis was "gotten rid of" cuz of a baby coming into the family! HOW STUPID! My two girls LOVE, LOVE, LOVE~KIDS and every one! Plus although they do shed a lil, they leave less hair around then I do! I guess if you want to have an excuse"any is better than none!" It's a throw away World we live in. Pets, Children, marriage etc etc. If something is any trouble at all get rid of it. Grrrrr!I received an email not too long ago, it was about if God did a recall on Humans........something to think about!
