Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

Just an update for anyone who knows about the crisis in Chicago with the dogs that were seized by the DOA.

The 76 dogs that the woman willingly released have been adopted. The rest (111) are still in impound at the AWL (Animal Welfare League) in Chicago Ridge, IL. I found out this morning, that there is now parvo in some of the remaining dogs...so hold your breath.

IAMS (yes, I know, they're awful and I hate them too) did donate one ton of dog food to help with the crunch

Just thought I would update anyone who knows the crisis. If no one has heard about it, I will answer anyone's questions as best I can since we drove up there last weekend with a vanload of donations.

Here's a link to an article about it. I will go find more in a minute. Mike and I collected stuff from stores willing to donate and then donated some of our own stuff and drove it up there. It was pretty awful....dogs everywhere and stuff everywhere, the heartwarming part was the constant flow of adopters and donaters while we were there. Amazing what people can do when it's crunch time. Hang on...I'll post again when I find more info, which should be just a couple of minutes.

Well, I didn't find the address to send donations, but, I think it's on their petfinder site. If you go to www.petfinder.com and up at the top, click on "shelters and rescues" and then choose Illinois. Scroll down to Chicago Ridge and look for Animal Welfare League, I believe their address is there. I just talked to Linda today and things are looking up slightly, but they could always use donations.
