Hi, we're so glad you're
visiting.
Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.
The CFP Forum is officially "inactive"
-- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it. All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

Yvonne there was a story on t.v yesterday, about a young girl that had allergies and asthma so she could not get a pet. her parents knowing how much she loves animals searched for some kind of pet for her. than they met a Cairn Terrier breeder who told them that Cairn Terriers have special hair that would not cause allergies and asthma. she let them take a puppy home for a while to see if it works. their girl fell in love with this beautiful puppy and they kept him (he even sleeps in her room and still no allergies). is it true about Cairn Terrier hair? if it is isn't nature great ?

MAYA, My son had terrible allergies & asthma and a Dr. told me about schnauzers(NOT SHEDDING ETC.) so that's what we had! but sometimes it's not really the hair but the dander that effects people! so you just want to keep them clean and brush them out side & and it doesn't hurt to use cheese clothe(barely damp to lightly go over their coats with) or a hounds mitt works well, sometimes it's the grass, dust, dirt etc in their coats more than the dogs themselves. also desensitizing shots work quite well to!good grooming & housecleaning go along way. I useto keep mine clipped and wiped down. and coat/skin conditioner in their food!

Thats very true what Rosemary said, I have bad allergies and I notice when any of my pets are not clean , it ,makes me sneeze ,itch, breakout, so I keep them and my house spotless. Lucy has a dermatitis skin condition , which is very common in Cairn Terriers, I have to use special shampoo and conditioner on her.

you are right i also keep mine clean and wash them with shampoo and condish and the mitt oh, they just love that . muky gets a haircut in the summer cause he shed like crazy and cause it gets really hot here, with short hair he looks like a little Dalmatian.

I wonder what Midnight would look like shaved, I can't bring myself to do it, I love her long hair, she has hair like a human, and she is one of the few dogs, that doesn't have a dog smell, I guess I just love to brush her hair like a little girl and play dressup, I think she likes it too, I'll say time to brush your hair and make you pretty, and she comes running, so I know she loves it.

i love Midnight the way she is please don't shave her. my buffy loves the brush but she does not like if i put her hair in a bow even if she can not see with all that hair in her eyes.
Lucy's week and we are talking about Midnight i'm glad she's not the jealous type

I'm not going to shave her !, I can't even imagine that. They all three are getting along better each day, This morning even Lucy was playing with them rolling around in the floor, I'll have to get some pics, They are all napping right now.
