Was wondering, you called her a "Torti". Is that the name of the color short for "Torise" as in "Tortise shell"? I have one too. Her name is "Sally". Someone told me the name was "Chocolate-Caramel". Didn't think it sounded very official though. Anyhow so beautiful and it blessed me to read the story.

Thank you all for your kind comments and compliments on my baby girl! I appreciate all of them. She is a joy to have around and the source of lots of laughter at her antics. What a silly girl. Yes, as far as I know, Tortie is the name for the tortoise shell coloration. There are names for the other markings like the irregular diamond shape on her cheek, I think, too, but I don't remember all of them. Our pet clinic office also had one that was muted colors, (gray and peachy) that they called a silouhette Tortie. I also had a previous one that I called (hopefully correctly) a Harlequin Tortie because her face was literally perfectly divided down the middle - black on one side and orange on the other with the eyebrows decoratively reversed.
