Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

Did they say what caused it? The antibiotics & diet food did it for GRETA! If Drugs in Canada is anything like in America, the Antibiotics from the vet is 10x cheaper than the same stuff from a pharmacy! Did they find out if he has allergies to foods & which ones? Greta is doing well on her food, no diarrhea or throwing up.

No idea what exactly caused it Frown

he is getting retested in 21 days, everyone cross your fingers that test comes up clean.

He loves his new kibble :O and he took his pill no problem. phew.

He has not thrown up since last wednesday, let's hope he stays puke-free for at least three more weeks or better yet 2 months or NEVER!

*CROSSING FINGERS BIGTIME!*

EDIT: the food is medi-cal which I think is in Canada only, only available from vets. We're still giving him a little of the wet stuff cause he likes it and I want him to gain a little more weight Smile.

I hope to heck he comes through this 100% ok!

Hubby & I are praying for ~J~. I know you will keep us informed of his progress. How old is J ? You mentioned about Shepherds & their stomache problems. That maybe in certain bloodlines. All of the ones that I had(Bought or Bred)never had a problem with that. I read the articles on the link that you posted on the other thread. I think it's a great idea that you posted it. I have a "Favorites List" full of good medical sites also & I added this to it. I NEVER turn down a good Vet site!(got them from all over the world)

Juneau is puke-free for 6 days now Smile He is taking the new food well and he took his pill last night very well.

He never seemed "sick" to me, and still doesn't. I guess it's a matter of waiting now for the next blood test. :/

he is around 4, and the pills cost $60.00 :O. He threw up last week GRRRR but I think it was because we didn't give him his dinner early enough. If we keep some food in his stomach he does not throw up.

He's puked a little bit here and there for a long time, but kept gaining weight, was full of energy, had normal stools, looked healthy so I just shrugged it off. BIG MISTAKE!

I've gotten him his shots every year and look after him the best I can (should brush his teeth more though) and still he comes up with an inflamed pancreas. I'm still like WTFudge?! He still doesn't look "sick" to me.

Then is that it, for taking the pills? I couldn't believe how expensive the Pharmacy was & Cheap the vet gets the same exact meds for! I was wondering how "J" was doing! Greta almost got the "D" again, she had a denta bone yesterday,it had "Dryed animal digest"in it(Pork probably) But I think that it's probably out of her now. she had us up 3 times during the middle of the night! Won't do that again!

we're still giving him mini meals throughout the day to prevent him for puking. He is free-puke for 15 days now Smile

tomorrow he is going to get blood tests to make sure his pancreas is healthy now *Crosses fingers.*

Sorry, he's still puking every 20+ days or so, but that ONLY happens when his stomach is empty! I think the puking caused the pancreas to become irritated, so if we keep control of the puking, he will be ok. The followup tests came back normal BTW, but the vet tried to rip me off by running a couple of other tests without bothering to ask me!!!! and tried to charge me for them, so the vet office got a scatching phonecall from you-know-who.

I am now feeding him kibbles n bits because the fancy oatmeal type of kibble was not appealing to him, and getting him to eat was AGGRAVATING! Now I put a scoop in his bowl and he gobbles it, no more stress! Big Grin He's gained some weight too! When I got him he was a measly 47 lbs :O and now he is around 55 lbs and hopefully climbing. A vet told me that he just has a slim build though, so I don't expect he will weigh more than 60 or so. He needs to get his teeth cleaned though Frown.

That's great that you have it under control! Greta is too, fact she's getting a lil less food now. She got a lil pudgie. Which was amazing. As long as no one is "treating" her to anything other then her, Warm F/P w/ rice...She's perfect! Greta likes to chew on the knotted string breath things & if I don't watch her then she eats the string! So I have to watch her with those things, Hannah is the same. Outside, they both like to pick up stuff to chew, so they have to be watched. Greta's IBD is very under control, by keeping her away from her food allergies.(all seven of them)
