Hi, we're so glad you're
visiting.
Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.
The CFP Forum is officially "inactive"
-- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it. All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.
Okay, I have been having a hard time dealing with Sassy gone, even with four kids and a husband, the house seems so empty! After Andy got home from work, I decided to listen to Rosemary and go down to our local Humane Society and just "look" at the kitties. Oh wow, they are so overloaded right now, it's so sad and a lot of them are sick too. Anyway, I was looking and looking and there was this one, that just sat back and looked at me, didn't mew or anything. I kept looking, came back to this kitty and kept looking then came back to her again. I asked about her, they said that she is four years old, and has been brought back three times! So sad! She seemed so sweet, so I asked why she was brought back so many times. The original owners were transfered to a differnt base and they didn't allow pets, and they tried but couldn't find her a home, the second owners had her for only a week and said all she did was hide, okay, to me, it takes more than a week to adjust. The third time, the people just decided that they didn't want her. I asked to hold her, she just sat in my arms, and looked into my eyes and it felt like I could understand her! It was like she was saying "I know what you have been through today and I know you are hurting, I can help you, I have loved and lost too". I almost starting crying, I'm sure everyone there thinks I'm a nut case, but hey! It takes all kinds, right? lol Any way, after that I couldn't say no, I had to take her home with me, so I paid the desk and off we went! Andy was a little upset at first, but he loves me, and no grudges held! lol I didn't get her to replace Sassy, no kitty every will, and my dad made the comment to me "Geeze aren't you even going to mourn Sassy first? Well, I am and I think it really helps having this kitty with me! Her name is Meeka and she is so sweet! Declawed and fixed too. Here are some pics. Enjoy!
Sure hope,I didn't get you into any trouble! But, I know Sassy would not want you to be sad or lonely for Her. Nor would she want a kitty to be in the Pound, that didn't have to be! Good Job! Hope She has a forever home with you! I believe these furbabies feel rejection too!
I found out that she is a Persian breed and a solid color, black. She is so sweet! I don't know why the humane society said she was very shy, she isn't! She hopped up on the couch last night, and cuddled right up next to me!

what a neat looking cat! Juneau seemed totally uninterested in me the first time I saw him at the SPCA so we did not take him home. Then I saw his pic on the SPCA site and it was AAAWWWWWW. So we went back and I bawled like a baby begging to adopt him. Heh, the rest is history!
I think it's great you went to the pound to get a cat, your old kitty wouldn't mind at all
i was so sad to read about your Sassy and you are so right one pet can't replace another .also wanted to say congrats for you new addition Meeka is so beautiful and that is defiantly a Persian face.
