Hi, we're so glad you're
visiting.
Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.
The CFP Forum is officially "inactive"
-- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it. All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.
Cat lovers beware -- new research suggests cats can contract the deadly bird flu and spread it to other felines.
A World Health Organization official says there's no proof yet that cats can spread it to humans.
The official says that might be because infected cats don't shed nearly as much of the virus as infected birds do. But, he warns that there hasn't been much research into it, either.
The avian flu has seen some outbreaks in recent years. Twenty-seven people in Asia died from it this year alone.
The new research appears today in the journal Science.
