Hi, we're so glad you're
visiting.
Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.
The CFP Forum is officially "inactive"
-- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it. All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.
Well, it was a Christmas Miracle. We had a White Christmas here on the Texas coast. We came out of the arly candlelight serfvice about 6:00and it was starting to sleet. Went to the fellowship hall for hot cocoa and cookies, came out at 6:30 and things were starting to get slippery as it was icing over. By 7:00 snow was mixed in and by 8:00it was l00% snow. You yountgst son and family couldn't get out of Corpus--all bridges were iced over and as far as I know, now matter which way you leave corpus you have to cross a bridge, be it one of the bays or the river.
Our oldest son lives a mile from us, but was nervous about driving on the snow streets, so hubby, who is long haul trucker and just got in that morning from palces like chicago, Detroit, Toronto (snow, snow, snow) went and got him and the kids. Daughter-in-law had a headache and didn't want to get out in the weather. The kids (ages3 and 5 ----and 38) had a snowball fight. The grandkids were elated. Hubby took them home about 9:00. Woke up Christmas morning to find 5 inches of the stuff on the ground. Beautiful. The last time it had snowed down here was in 1973 and it was just 1". This was an all time record for snowfall, plus the first ever white Christmas.
All the kids did make it for Christmas dinner and opening presents on Christmas Day after sand trucks put put sand on bridges between here and Corpus, but was still slippery. Oler son said the kids had to go out and play in snow before opening presents from Santa. And even today, there are still articles about it in our paper. It is called the Christmas Miracle of 2004. Oh, but the way, we did live in Ohio for 7 years back in late 60, early 70 and I saw plenty of snow up there. Also, were in Austin from 72-88 and we did get snow there from time to time. But this was a very specail snow.
we had a little snow here but not much it was warm on Christmas day though. I think it's funny here in Texas how things are, one year it iced really bad and the fire trucks put snow chains on for it lol.
