Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

We went to Wally World last night (walmart) to get some photos developed and I spotted $1.00 African Violets, in desperate need of some TLC, so I "adopted" three and my mom "adopted" one or two, and I had to laugh cause we both feel "sorry" for poor neglected plants in stores and when they are cheap, we end up buying them!

I now have FIVE African violets, LOL.

Have you had African Violets before? I bought 3 of them last year and they dried up and died on me. I don't have a green thumb - I wish I did!! What's the secret?

Lalania, take a picture. Big Grin

aww barbie Frown
keep their soil moist, don't let water get on their leaves Smile use african violet food too. Info from the thingie in one of the plants:
Place in indirect light. Keep soil moderately moist and maintain warm home temp : 70 - 75 F.

They love our bathroom.

The ones in the colourful pots are the new ones Smile

doh! that sucks Yvonne. It's best to water them from underneath, like put water in the bowl that catches excess water. They will absorb water from there and it won't hurt their leaves. Smile

I will talk to my mom today and get more tips from her. She taught me how to water an African V when I was a little kid, hee hee. I don't quite have the green thumb she does, but I try Smile

There are some plant species I find can take neglect better than others:
Spider plants
Aloe Vera
Shamrock Plant
and this guy that's in the kitchen, I dunno the name
