Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

And they will be so much better than those picked-green store bought ones. I know, I grew up on a farm with the fresh tomatoes and could hardly eat store bought ones after I married and moved from Texas to Ohio.

Smile Thats great Chris ! I bet those are good tasteing tomatoes, I won't eat one unless its home grown, store bought tomatoes just are tasteless to me, good luck with your garden, I hope to have one next year, its too late to start one now, and I am still recooping from 2 surgerys, so I guess I'll have to buy them from the farmers market this summer.

We have had tomatoe plants for a few months now and ours are on the decline, it's getting too hot down here. But, we have got quite a few large harvests off our plants. We ate some tomatoes (ripe & fried green), gave some away to family & friends, and put some in the freezer for soup & stuff. We also have a cucumber plant, a basil plant, some jalepeno peppers, and grove peppers.

Mother canned (actually "jarred") tomatoes when I was growing up. When we lived in Austin I had a garden and I use to stew a lot of tomatoes and freeze them for stew, soups, chili. I would also chop and quick freeze green peppers for same thing, and could also use them in all kinds of casseroles. Once hubby brought in a zillion pounds of onions that had been given to him, and I also chopped and froze a lot of them.

Another thing I had a hard time getting use to was store bought milk. To me it tasted 1/4 milk and 3/4 water. I use to like to get a glass of fresh milk as soon as it had been brought in and strained (to get out any cow hair, etc). It was warm and so rich and good.
