Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

awthanks Lauren. Smile I'm glad to be back. Thanks for asking.

I've had 3 painful weeks, but I'm well on my way to a full recovery (I hope). I had this same surgery last year, but I guess I wasn't careful enough. At the store, I lifted a 20-pound bag of rice and I sensed right away I was in deep trouble. This time around I have to be a little bit more careful of my lower back and not do stupid things like lifting heavy items or bending using my waist instead of my legs.

I'll be going to physical therapy 3 times a week and also starting an exercise program -- it should help.

I'm happy I've been blessed with a wonderful supporting family that has taken excellent care of me.

hug2

I've always been healthy so I don't know what's up with my lower back, but hopefully, this injury is now in the past. Lalania, you're right -- back problems are the worst and excrutiatingly painful. I would rather go through childbirth a couple of times then deal with sciatic nerve pain again. Yme I tell you, I'm a tough cookie and can handle pain, but sciatic pain can make even the toughest man cry.

I wish your mom and Gus luck on that as well.

Hi Rosemary and Christine!! Smile I'm so glad I re-opened the board, although I'll still be missing on and off. My back is still kind of sore and I'm taking it easy for now. I have to return to work tomorrow, so I'll see how that goes or whether I need to take an additional week off.

On the good side, my sciatic pain is completely gone - praise the Lord on that one. Now it's just a matter of my back stiches healing and starting a physical therapy program.

This week, I've felt old and rusty. Yme Maggie, Cesar, Hiram and Mom all took the week from work after my surgery to take care of me -- isn't that something!! I didn't even have to ask them to. They didn't let lift a finger. I'm so blessed to have them in my life.

Can't wait to be my happy and hyper self again. Your friendship helps more than you each know.

hug2 Hi Barbi! So glad you are feeling better, and CFP is back online, I have truly missed you and everyone else, You are so blessed to have a wonderful family that you don't even have to ask to take care of you, How Wonderful!
nonono Don't be doing anymore heavy lifting, ever, I can't lift heavy things either, get someone else to do those things for you, its not worth the problems and pain. I certainly don't want you to have to go through anymore painful episodes. I'm just so glad you are back!! doggy doggy

Thank you Smile I'm feeling MUCH BETTER today -- thank God. It's incredible what 2 full days of bed rest and hot compresses on my lower back can do. Hopefully, it's all uphill from now on.

smileygroup I'm in the mood for making new graphics. Hiram is trying to see if he can set up the computer in a way so that I can type while I'm laying in bed. Either that, or set the reclyner in a way so I'm not in a sitting position that long. I sure do miss CFP.

Sometimes, we have to "lose" something that we have, so that we can enjoy it more, when we "get it back"! I sure do appreciate everyone of our CFP Family! hugeblink
