Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

hey everyone!! its been a while ive posted! I need someone to shed some light on what I should do with Mink... I think she may be in heat and I feel really bad for her cause she seems desperate... Not only that but she seems to want Kito (my chihuahuas attention)... She follows him everywhere, lays in front of him with her 'tooshie' in his face, and she lifts her tail and her butt and all!! confused i dunno what 2 do? he doesnt understand why shes acting like that either... shes constantly running to him and rubbing herself into him... Theyre not supposed to be like that! Theyre brother & sister!! :-X... Anyone know what I should do? confused

She may be in heat. I allowed Xena to go into heat before she was neutered. My reasons for allowing this were selfish. About the only Siamese gene she lacks is the loud voice - it must have been set to "mute". big grin To neuter before the first heat reduces the chances of cancer later on. I'm no vet, but your suspicions are probably correct.

She is not trying to be obscene, she does not know what is going on either. She just knows she has an urge and she is looking to you and Kito to help her. If you were to pet her she would do the same thing to you. It is just instints. Unfortunately it will last about 2 weeks and then every week or two until she is either bred or spayed.

I have an acquaintance that had the same problem. Her cat used to make such a loud, grunting noise, it was so disturbing.

Well finally Mink is okay now... She hasnt been turning her tooshie in Kito's face anymore... big grin Im still not sure if I should get her euthanized though... I always like to look and think for myself if Id want something like that done to me... I guess for now I wont get her fixed until I find it extremely necessary... Shes not at risk of seeing a male kitty, so Ill just see what happens... Thanks All! Muah!! Buh-Bye.. wink

Dear Ely,
Wow! I was so shocked when I read the last post. I think you meant "neutered or spayed" and not "euthanized". Euthanized, means to put the animal to sleep! Well, glad to hear that mink is better. She is very pretty! My family has a siamese, and when we got her, they told us it was a "she" and I named her "Coco" as in Coco Chanel. Well, about 8-9 months later, "she" had a set of very large "growths" down there! LoL! Well "she" got neutered! Haha!
