Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

Does anyone have experience with this type of pet? We might just get two of them (it says they need interaction). They sure look cute, but I want to get some feedback. Here is a link:

I haven't had any personal experience with them, but they sure look like they would be a lot of fun. They are so adorable too. Can't wait to see pics of the ones you get if you decide to. Yippee

I own two gliders and there is a wealth of information on these sites,do some research and then you can make an informed decision on whether or not you want one. They aren't exactly low maintanance. Kim

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I decided not to get them because they are high maintenance, although adorable. They were supposedly for my son, but "I KNOW" who will wind up taking care of them. He's too busy with college, sports, and girls. lol

I already have CFP, 3 children, 2 dogs and a full-time job to worry about. Maybe someday in the future. They are very cute.

Kim, I would love to see a photo of yours? Do you have any? What is your experience with them like?

I have three Sugar Gliders and we are expecting Jeoy's anyday now, They do not mix too well with other animals and mine make a lot of noise at night, since thats their awake time. They live up to 15 years and must have atleast two hours a day of play time if they do not live in a cage with other gliders. I recommend haveing atleast two in one cage so that if anything happens you can't spend much time together they will have each other. I was told when I bought mine that they were easier and cheaper then taking care of dogs. I found that this is not true. I have had to share custody with my brother who offered to help with finances for them because I could not afford the care they needed on my own. I also found that I'm allergic to them to the point that everytime I have them out I break out into hives every where they touch my skin. I have heard of several people being allergic like this and it makes it hard to take them out daily for quality time if you are allergic. however I'm already bonded with these bb's and so is my brother so we will just suffer the allergies. I make post on Sugar Glider gossips site every few days and there you can find out what kind of diet is best and stuff. we use Brisky pellets and fresh fruit and veggies every night also provide insects, june bugs worms, etc. they are a lot of fun to have if you have the time and money it requires. hope this helps.

Mommybop, thank you for this information Smile I just read this outloud to my son (the sugargliders were his idea) and put special emphasis on
quote:
they are a lot of fun to have if you have the time and money it requires
. They sound like they are wonderful pets, but his priorities right now are college, friends, sports, family, women, women and more women....so that means, I would have wound up taking care of them on my own and I'm already stretched to the limit on time and money. lol

Maybe someday, they sound really interesting. I look forward to you posting pictures. I would love to see them.

yes I'm going to post the pictures of them Ive got to figure it out I'm really not so great on computers my hubby will help soon as he feels better. They really are the sweetest little things last night my family and I obeserved our pregnant glider Mango actually open her pouch and look in at her babies. she has twins! I posted on a gliders site and asked if it was normal for her to do that and they said she's cleaning her pouch and her babies when she sticks her head in. I'm very thankful that my brother loves these little guys and is willing to share in the resonsibiltiy right now.
