Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

Hi - I can only use this quick reply thing. I can't reply using the "full form" and I cannot post a new topic. It says that there is a script error. Is the forum post java script? For some reason my AOL does NOT like java script. Maybe I should delete it and start over. I don't want to do that, though. I don't really have time.

Here's my intro:

I am 27 and live in NYC. I'm working on my Ph.D. in developmental psychology and am researching the psychological development of children with cancer.

I have a 6 year old son. (You'll see him when I can post regularly and my signature works) I'll make another signature later with my pets.

We have a cream (blonde?) hamster with grey ears. She is 7 weeks old and doesn't really have a name. We've been calling her Piglet, though, because when I first got her, she cried when she saw my son. She squealed like a pig and was so scared. We had to hold her for 40 minutes before she calmed down. We got her last weekend, and she's still a little scared of us. We also have a brown hamster named Hermoine. Hermoine is obese. She is SO FAT that I try to limit her diet and put her in the ball and force her to run around my apartment to get exercise. She then just sits in the ball and washes herself for the most part. She's probably about 6 months old. I rescued her from the pet store, as the other hamsters were ganging up on her and had bitten one of her toes off and had bitten her nose and also bitten other places on her. She's pretty anti-social, but she's been nice to Piglet. We did have another hamster until 2 weeks ago. Her name was Harriette. She was Harry Potter until we found out she was a she (we got her as a baby before Hermoine.) Anyway, they were potty trained hamsters, and the pet store ran out of hamster potty litter and sold me some bird litter for their "bathroom" in their hamster safari. Well, you know hamsters like to pack things in their mouths...the bird litter was like poison to Harry, and she died :-( She was the best hamster I've ever had.

I also have a 2.5 year old Yorkshire Terrier. Her name is Dutchess Emma, but we call her "Girlie" now. She is just so prissy. She usually sits by my feet on her pillow under my computer desk or beside me in my chair. Right now she is having to spend her days in the play pen. Two nights ago, (Feb 12) she gave birth to a boy and a girl. They will be AKC registered as soon as I send off the info to AKC. I LOVE puppies, so I think that I may get another girl or keep this girl and then once a year have a litter of puppies. Then I keep them while they are pups and then sell them. No puppy mill here. My pets are well trained and well-loved. I can't wait until my pups get old enough for me to play with them. My son sits by their play pen and looks at them for long periods. I don't let anyone touch them though - and when they need to be touched, I wash my hands thoroughly before I touch them or before my son touches them. I want to make sure they stay healthy. I took them to the vet about 12 hours after they were born, and he said they look great. If you want to read their birth story, you can go to http://devpsych07.tripod.com/04febpup.html I even have pictures of them there.

It sure will. AOL subscribers somehow experience difficulties. I think it's because AOL email is proprietary and too many emails get filtered. I haven't had any complaints with members using IE.

Looking forward to getting to know you and the fur-kids. family I'm off to check out your website and read that story. Smile

Angi,

Thanks for the advice. I minimized AOL and am using IE now. The screen popped up. Wooo Hoo - I'm officially REALLY here. LOL BTW - I DID post that you sent me (look under the - not new here post for Dogz) I had to reply to a post to get here as I couldn't create a new post. I could only do that quick reply option.

Oh - I just added two new pics of my pups on the site. I need to do a doggie and hamster siggy!

triplewave Terrific!!

Let me know if you want us to create a ziggy for you. Smile Our Moderator Yvonne is the expert on that.

By the way, HTML is turned OFF at the board for security reasons. I noticed you have the html code on there. Smile

Looking forward to meeting your doggie and hamster. Smile

You've passed your Internet exam -- it works!! jury Very pretty signature indeed.
Can you please post a large individual photo of each of your pets so I can make a heart and add them to the Who's Who section? That would be great.
