Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

Hi everyone!

My name is (obviously) Colleen. I am 20 years old, from Delaware. I own 2 dogs. One is a Lab/Pit mix from the local SPCA. She's now 4 years old. Large. Happy. But quite protective. (No one comes between me and Annie!) Razz

My newest addition is an 11 week old Papillon male. His name is Colby. What a handful! He's such a joy though, and keeps me very busy. You know, up at 5:30 am, and finally goes to sleep around 1:00am. Yme

I also own 5 cats. (Magic, Marmalade, Tootsie, Dweezil, Oofy) All are rescued from some place. 3 out of the 5 are SPCA cats, and one from the vet, and the latest is one that was abandoned at the Horse farm where I used to work.

Speaking of horses, I've also owned, trained and worked with horses since I can remember! I've rescued several from the Race Track that were headed towards the meat factories, reschooled them, taught them their manners, basic riding, and helped them with their mental and physical health. Then I found permanent homes for the babies. Does anyone else ride or work with horses?

Now that I've completely bored you all, I'll stop. I think that's all. Wink

Dear Colleen,
Colby is ADORABLE! I Love Papillons, and if it weren't that they go for so much around here, and they were not as portable as a Chi, I would have gotten one as well! They cost from $1000 -$2000 (extreme ends) here in S. Cali. My cousin recently got one in N. Carolina (brown and white) but I prefer the blk/white or tri's.
I am owned by Bailey (Male-1yr 7 months) and Chloe (Female -5.5 months). Both are Long-Coat Chihuahuas. They are the lights of my life! I wish I could rescue so many animals such as yourself! Congrats on your efforts and new family addition!

welcomeblue My name is Gloria and I want to also welcome you. Colby is tooadorable What is his temperament like? He looks a little bit like a Long-Hair Chihuahua and a Pomeranian. Very cute indeed.

I commend you for rescuing Annie from a shelter, plus on having so many felines. KissSmile I look forward to meeting each of them and reading your posts.

Hi everyone Smile It's nice to meet you all! I can't wait to meet your babies too!

Vivan, Colby was QUITE expensive. (I'm embarrassed to admit just how much. lol) But I will say he's in the higher end of your price range of the pups in Cali. But, he is a show dog, rather than pet quality, thus far at least! He better not gain TOO much more weight! Wink Eh, if he does, that's fine too, I know nothing about showing. I just wanted a happy, healthy, well bred Papillon.

Gloria, Colby's temperment is amazing. He's inquisitive, outgoing with people, loving, extremely sensitive, highly intelligent and just a real dream to be around. I've owned and been around dogs all of my life, I've yet to find one that has his personality. By just 11 weeks old he had all of the basic commands down pat (come here, sit there, lie down, wait here). He's well mannered, knows when to "chill-out" and yet very playful. His best attribute is probably his ability and love of learning. He's always eager for the NEXT command. At first I thought I was overwhelming him with things to do, but in fact I wasn't doing enough! He keeps me very busy. Wink (Can you tell I love him to pieces? lol) I'll stop before this post becomes a novel! Big Grin

colby sounds smart! thats alot of commands for a lil 11 week old pup. ive been trying to teach my lil. b. commands but shes 2 hyper to pay attention. i wish they didnt make buying a specific breed so expensive. it Frown when u want a dog ~n~ cant get one. im lucky i have my lil. b. ~n~ she was free. thats only cuz my aunt owns her mom ~n~ then my mom got her for me as a bday present otherwise i couldnt have spent the $800 a tiny long hair chi goes for. shes the best present ive gotten in my entire life. my next dog is gonna be from a shelter or maybe a cat. i think my lil. b. would get along well with a kitty.
