Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

I can't explain it but my heart kept telling me
this is what I needed to do...Sometimes you have
to do what you have to do for the sake of love

I really liked this Man and woman...Guess we will see how it
goes yet again

This email came a bit ago
It is written to his 2 daughters.

Well, we did it. Attached is a photo of the new addition to our family,
aka "Andy". He is supposed to be half Standard Schnauzer. The other
half is open to question, but probably is some sort of terrier, possibly
an Airdale. He is white except for his whiskers, the tip of his tail
and his ears, which are light brown. He weighs about 30 lbs or so, and
is about 1/2 the size of Kiri. Because of his easygoing disposition I
wonder if the other half might be poodle, but who knows?

So far he has proven to be an amiable travelling companion. Once in the
car he settled right down, and is actually a lot less bother than Kiri
tends to be. In the house he displays reasonable behaviour, needing a
couple of admonishments to stay off the sofa. He and Kiri are doing
amazingly well so far. The cat has decided to not trust him, and he
appears to be curious about the cat. Time will, I think, take care of
this situation. Just hope the cat doesn't get him in the eye before
they reach an accomodation.

Outside is a different story.
He quickly got the idea of "sit", and will come on command
after very little encouragement, but he cannot be trusted off the leash
yet.

I bought a crate from a neighbor who no longer has a dog. It may help,
giving him his own space at night, and will probably help with accident
avoidance.

Right now he is under my desk, staying cool, while I write this. I
think he is going to do well. He appears to be quick to learn, but the
old habit of pulling on his collar has to be corrected. This will take
some time, but he is certainly not a stupid dog.

Kathy, I got some real good shots of the girls with the horses. The
best, however, was "Rub-a-dub-dub, Four gals in a tub" I'll post it on
the web site.

Love Ya!

Dad
