Hi, we're so glad you're
visiting.
Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.
The CFP Forum is officially "inactive"
-- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it. All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.
Well, Honey has finished her 50 day treatment of vitamin K for the D-con (think it was knocked out of the attic when we got some stuff down. had it up there for field mice. Sh had only been in garage about 10 when i found her & her throw up with pieces of the poison in he throw-up)She goes in Monday to get her blood clotting checked. If it clots okay, she is done. If not, she will go back on the vitamin K for a while. Since i got her there so fast and got her her tummy emptied and 2 injections of the vitamin K, he wa sure even that day she would be fine.
Then I take Buck in Wednesday to get the little tumor removed from his eye lid. Was suppose to have been done at the end of last week, but with Hurricane Emily floating around out there, we postponed it until this week. My vet thinks he will just be able to sedate Buck and "zap" the little tumor off. With Buck being 10 1/2, I would prefer he not be put under if it can be helped.
Honey's blood work came back normal, so all is just fine with her. Dropped Buck off at 7:15 this morning and he did not want to be left there. Took me and the tech to get him in the holding cage. Under normla circumstances i would have stayed with him, but I had compnay and they were leaving about 10:00 this morning, so I had to ge back, fix brekfast and see them off.
About an hour after I got home, my vet called to tell me Buck was running fever---104.6. Had he been acting any differently? No, he ate with gusto last night, ate his frosty paw for dessert, and was all excited about going for a rid this morning--until he found where he was going. My vet said that sometimes stress will elevate a dogs temp, but had never seen it go that high. Was going to have his temp taken every 30 minutes and if it went down to normal, would do the surgery. If not, we would have to try to find out what the problem was.
My compnay left and i went over to see Buck. His temp had dropped to just a tick over 102 and as soon as it went down one more degree, the tumor would be removed. Well, it went down to normal, he was sedated real good, his eyelid deadened and the little tumor removed and I brought him home at 3:45. He was still somewhat groggy and I had to help him into and out of the car, but the old man wa sure glad to be home. He should be "ungroggy" by morning.
