Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

My furbaby is prone to ear infections. The vet said to flush her ears out once a week with a 1/2 and 1/2 mixture of white vinegar and _____? Can't remember if he said rubbing alcohol or hydrogen pyroxide??! Please advise. Thanks! Smile

Since none of us are vets -- to be on the safe side -- please call the Vet's office. Any opinions expressed here are just "personal opinions" and not to be acted upon.

Poor baby! Ear infection are so painful. I hope she gets well soon.

I use those wet baby wipes with aloe. then a "drying solution" afterwards. I also give Hannah 2 tablespoons heaping of Natural yogert every morning(by mouth, ofcourse!)I didn't believe it worked, but she went from having ear infections all the time to NONE. I use low or non-fat & plain.Bigtime Kennels recommend it. Greta is allergic to everyting, so we don't do her, but she has very lil ear problems. The Wetwipe(I use the generic ones from Walmart are easy & you can use them pretty far down with out hurting the dog.If the dog has ears that hang down & Cover the ear, try cleaning them, then try, making the dog lie down with the ears open to dry out.

I use the baby wipes to clean as much of the inside of the ear as possible, but I also have an "ear wash" I got from vet.
