Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

FLEAS!!!!!! I am so upset! We've had Toby for 3 years now and not a single flea!! Hubby started a new job, which puts him around some other pets (apartment maintenance) and he thinks he may have brought some home! Frown Its NOVEMBER! in OHIO! Fleas should be dead! Oye! He had a flea collar on too. They've always worked in the past.

I went to Petsmart got Biospot shampoo and drops. Although it was REALLY expensive, Its what the lady recommended since I have young children and Im pregnant. I guess less harsh. She told me to bathe him and let him soak in the suds for 30 minutes! Uggggg, that was the longest half hour of my life! And the poor baby was so cold! I had him wrapped in a towel, but he was still shivering! Just looked like a little drowned rat standing there in the tub! Anyhoo....that seemed to work! No itching, I went over him literally with a fine tooth comb. Not a flea! Well this morning he started nibbling at his backside, and I checked him.....MORE FLEAS!!!!! So I bathed him again!!!! I found maybe 10. Not too bad, but still Im SHOCKED! Alot of little tini ones, im assuming babies that maybe just hatched. I went ahead and put the drops on him now. Even though I know if I have to wash him again, it will wash off. IM hoping these drops will keep them off him.

Im just so bummed!!!! He's never had a single problem! His poor little body is just covered in sores from those nasty bugs! Ugggg, why my pooch!?

Anyone have any suggestions on more of a long term cure? If I get him medication from the doctor, will that stop them right in their tracks?

The lady at petsmart said it might take 2 weeks to rid us of them all because eggs keep hatching. Even the shampoo that claims it Kills eggs, doesnt really. Not sure how true that is. Ugggggg, so frustrating!

My husband has been so itchy too! LOL he swears he's got them too! He's such a dork! lol

God Bless,
Angi

Hi Again! There's a vicious circle when Fleas move in to your home... Inside(any surface-especially cloth/fur)...Outside-Everywhere! and On Humans/pets! You can chase them around that circle by doing one or 2 of the 3 areas of the fleas hiding places or...do all three at one time!(the best way ofcourse! ALL 3 at one time!) BTW: They like to hide in mattresses & Furniture, carpets, clothing(Even vehicle upholstery & draperies!) Here is a link, where you may find help to do battle with the Flea Problem....Pet Educ. Flea Control & Prevention
