Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

Fortunatly for me, I am posting this on behalf of a friend not me! I dont know what I would do if Mr Toby got fleas! YIKES!!!!

My friend lives in Florda and is mommy to a sweet little fawn Pug, Atticus! Smile Poor little guy got fleas! Mom ran right out to the store and got him a flea bath, flea collar and those drops you put on his neck. She came home bathed him good, followed the directions on the bottle to the T! She said she could see the fleas falling off, so she knew it was working. Then put on his flea collar and drops and sent him on his way. He was doing great for a day, then the next day he was scratching and miserable again. She repeated the whole process following directions, and STILL he got fleas back the next day!!!!!!! She doesnt know what else to do!!!!! THEY WONT GO AWAY! She knows she's curing him for a little bit because he just acts happier. Its obvious he's not being irritated by the bugs for a little while, but the next day he's infested again.

She even got some spray for the carpet and cleaned out his "house". Still no luck!!!!!

The shampoo says on the bottle it will last and continue working for 7 days, but its barely going 24 hours!!!

She lives in Florida, so she is suspecting the climate might be some to blame (she just moved there from Ohio a couple months ago). He never had a problem with fleas before. For the most part he is an indoor doggie. Just goes out to play and use the potty.

Any ideas or suggestions? She is on a VERY tight budget! So nothing too expensive.

THANKS!!!!!

God Bless,
Angi

Fleas live everywhere, not just the carpet. Furniture etc. the outside surfaces too. For more ideas...use the "search" space at the top or click the links listed.Click for link needed(Foster/Smith)

Hey Angi I'm from Texas and believe me we got FLEAS!!!! when she treats she has to treat the yard and house at the same time on the same day. also wash all bedding even hers vacuum vacuum vacuum!!! toss the bag or emty the dust cup outside of the house. heres one thing we learned about fleas, they go under the carpet they live under the padding on the bottom layer of floor. I found this out when I pulled our carpet up and the floor was covered in happy healthy fleas! the only thing to do is spray some will work some won't you just keep trying different ones. good luck. Smile

One thing, a lot of those pet sotre flea controls things DO NOT WORK. I have found Frontline from my vet (or like Drs Foster & Smith catalog) work the best by far. I have used Flea Killer Plus in the past to use in the house and I spray between mattress and box springs, under all the furniture, under cushions on sofa and chairs, and I also spray the yard at the same time. We rarely hve problems with fleas here at our house, which is surprising as I am on the Texas Coast and we have all that nice sand.
