Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

One one of my golden retriever boards a lady posted(last Friday I think it was) that her golden was not acting "quite right). He wasn't acting sick, but just not quite right. She posted the next day that she had taken him to the vet and he had a blockage--caused by turkey bones from thanksgiving dinner. Her mom had seen the dog snag one bone from the counter, but it seems he got several without anyone knowing. So, heads up with bones on counters, especially if you have a large dog. And this also goes for chicken and pork bones. A few years ago I was at my vet's with one of my dogs and they were working on a very sick lab puppy. Found out the next day he had died--had gotten hold of pork chop bone, it splintered and puctured his tummy and peritonitis had set in and he couldn't be saved.

Yep, Sandra...It happens. I gotta watch Hannah really close, she can reach really far back on the counters & she'd oh so quiet. Just get busy in the kitchen making a salad, turn your back & she's up there looking. O got so I put things on the refrigerator or in the microwave or the Oven to hide stuff!
