Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

I don't know if roachies can be called cute, but that is an excellent photo and so colorful heartjest Your ratties are so cute!! Yvonne, can you please paint a Santa hat on this cutie? I would love to place this photo on the main page. I need to know the name as well.

Out of curiosity, let me ask you. What is the difference between your roachy and the ones found at certain homes? They look so different. Yours is so much larger and colorful. Most of the ones that people exterminate are just tiny and brown. Can you educate me on that?

Yvonne, do you think if I took a Christmas pic of two of my rats with a tiny Christmas tree you could add Santa hats to them, as well as a Christmasy border?

I need to send out Christmas cards but unfortunately I don't have money to make really good ones, or buy any, so I need something cute to print out as a card. Do you think you could do that for me, pretty pretty please!?! Big Grin

Barbi, my doe's name is Honey. She is a dumbo blue agouti velveteen girl who is due tonight with her first litter! biggrins

As far as the rochies. These roaches are Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches from Madagascar of course lol. They are very clean, unlike the German roaches, and live in the forest. They are a lot bigger than our tiny pests here. Razz If you do a search online you can find lots of good information on them.

If they got out here they most likely would not survive. They need a very high temperature and humidity to live. I have two males. You can tell males apart from females as they have horns on their head in which they use for fighting as well as longer feathery antennae. Females lack the feathering. Smile

I have found Copa far easier to care for than Juneau. She is easy to bathe and dry, her cage takes mins to clean unlike the hour or so we spend hunting for juneau mines in the backyard. Her food is also much less expensive. I highly recommend domestic rats as pets, and if you get a baby one from a pet store (one that is weaned of course!) that can be wonderful! Of course, they do tend to carry some diseases when they come from a crowded and dirty cage. We don't have to walk Copa, and she likes to hang out on our shoulders or run around on the couch/bed.

They are great for apartments and whatnot. I've had hamsters, a gerbil, a mouse and by far rats are the best of the lot!

RIP Copa, 2003 - 2005
