Hello everyone,

I told you all my parents raised horses until I was 16 and that I wanted another horse. About 2 weeks ago I finally got one, a 12 year old bay Quarter Horse gelding named Pat's Be-Bop. Here is a picture of my Be-Bop.

Amandalee, what a beautiful horse!! You are so lucky to have him!! That's a cute name for him too. What is he like personality wise? I've heard it said that horses are as smart as dogs, maybe even smarter. Does he know his name?

oh boy when I was 16 I rode my friend's quarter horse and nearly got killed / maimed. My friend's family were all GIANTS! like 6' + so the stirrups were too long for my legs!! And I ain't exactly short. I was riding the horsie thru a little forest in back of their property, and the horse spooked and took off running! I started to fall off the side cause I couldn't reach the foot bit on the stirrups!! So I let go of the reins to grab the pommel (biiiig mistake!) The horse started to run towards a fence and I knew if I didn't stop him, I was dead meat! I let go of the pommel and grabbed the reins and reefed on them real hard to stop the horse, ugh!!
It freaked my friend out too, I slid off the horse, shaking like crazy and went directly home *lol*
