Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

My Aunt Jennifer, Uncle Michael and little Aubriegh's Golden had to be put to sleep yesterday. Crying They had noticed about 1.5 weeks ago that she seemed to have the flu. She had a cough and wasn't eating. Jenn took her to the vet and they gave her antibiotics and explained that since all 3 of the humans were sick in the house, its possible she caught the same thing. But as the next week went by, Ginger still wasn't eating. Michael took her back to the vet yesterday, where they did an X-ray of her stomach. The test showed 24 cancerous tumors in her tummy and at that point there was nothing that could be done. The vet said that she probably was in a lot of pain and it would be in her best interest to put her to sleep. Poor little Aubriegh still wonders where she is, since thats the only dog she has ever grown up with. Frown Please say a little prayer for them all.

Human beings are the only animals of which I am thoroughly and cravenly afraid.

Oh my, this is so sad Frown
I can't believe that she had 24 tumors. They must have been devistated.
I will be saying a prayer for your family.

Oh Jamie, I'm so sorry Frown Losing a pet is sad and devastating, but they did the right thing putting her down. No pet should suffer a horrible disease like that. My thoughts and prayers are with them. Hug

Aubriegh has 2 beautiful kitties to keep her occupied right now, Sasha and Sabrina. But probably when she gets a bit older, they will get another Golden. My aunt just loves those dogs. Her first golden, Sebastian, lived with my grandparents, and he just recently passed away too from old age. Now we have no goldens in the family anymore, but I am sure there will be another one at some time.
