Hi, we're so glad you're
visiting.
Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.
The CFP Forum is officially "inactive"
-- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it. All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.
We are still in shock. On the 21st of August, Hannah(My Weimi girl) refused to eat and was throwing up... She seemed in a daze. We took her to the vet. on the 23rd.Xrays were taken and were negative for any foreign body...The Blood test showed that she was in acute Renal Failure(Her Kidneys stopped working). She was put on IV and given meds & Fluids. She did not respond to the medication. The Following Monday, it was decided given her condition to put her to sleep. We are in shock & Heartbroken. She was ONLY 3 yrs old. I checked with her breeder who said that there was no history of Kidney Problems in her family history. She has always been healthy and this was very sudden. Greta(my Adopted Weimi girl) Is still looking for her... It's pretty sad around here...we miss her so.

Oh Rosemary, how very sorry I am to read this. What a shock!! So very sudden!! I'm so sorry my friend -- I know how you must feel. Rest in peace dear Hannah. We will miss you very much.
Barbi, We have Honored the Memory of Hannah, in a way, she would MOOF with Approval!... Hannah, LOVed her Adopted RESCUE SISTER GRETA... Hannah would NOT like Greta to be LONELY, so we have RESCUED a Miracle Sister for GRETA... The Lil Weimi GIRL was OVER DUE to be PTS at a POUND about 3.5 Hours drive from us.SOME negligent Pound Worker, MISTAKENLY marked "LADY"..NOW Baby as a Biter which MARKED her FOR DEATH. I could not believe that the lil girl that I saw in the PETHARBOR Pound Listing was Vicious, so I QUESTIONED the BITE designation. The Pound SUPERVISOR was OUT of town(Until the day after Columbus Day)so She was SAFE until then. I advised the Pound Worker to put a "RESCUE HOLD"-under the authority of the President of a LOCAL RESCUE, whom I know & got the approval of. So we could Evaluate & RETRAIN/REHAB. LADY. The Pound worker PLACED the HOLD on LADY, UNTIL We could talk to the Supvr. WHEW, Lady was safe until Tues. Morning, when My Hubby & I arrived at the POUND-I called before we left JUST to make sure the HOLD ORDER was in place. I knew from the 1st MOMENT I saw her..that the BITE REPORT was wrong, and as it turned out, she had NOT bit anyone... We spoke to the Pound Spvr. Who quickly released her to me, and we were down the ROAD with LIL BABY IMMEDIATELY! Since she was covered with TICKS, filthy & Had no shot record,we headed straight for OUR VET'S. I was very concerned about Heartworms, Tick fever & lime disease. The vet did the tests and she was NEGATIVE! so she was put on HW Preventative, given an examination & her shots. She is scheduled for her spaying as well. I must tell you..This lil Baby(reported as a 2 yr old) is so good & we are thrilled with her..I am posting her Pound MUG SHOT..Her new PICTURES are to follow next week. GRETA LOVES her!
Thanks everyone ... Yes, Baby(aka Lady) is an Angel girl for us... She is part of the family now & Greta seems pleased with her. There are so many Weimis & Great furbabies awaiting FUREVER homes! I wonder if all the BYBs out there know the MISERY that most of their 'OVER BREEDING' babies go THROUGH? Shame on them! Some of the Pounds are releasing dogs that are NOT SPAYED or NEUTERED! Some take ONLY a $40.00 spay deposit!... UNREAL! Anyway... WE feel BLESSED that we found her and we PRAY that people will ADOPT & Rescue others that are waiting! THERE ARE PLENTY OF PUREBRED DOGS out there every day of the week!

My first trip to this site in months (years?) and I am so sad to see the dog's that have crossed the bridge. Hannah was such a beuatiful girl, I'm sorry to see she was taken from you so suddenly.

Well, I guess the vet says that it was the TAINTED FOOD from China that Took our Hannah(caised the KIDNEY FAILURE)... I guess I feel a lil happier, that we know what did it. The 'not knowing' only adds to the PAIN & shock... From what IAMS has said, there were PROBLEMS before this 'tainted food issue' hit the news. Just NOTHING was done about it before.Hills foods sent me an email today saying that they are NOT IMPORTING FOOD items anymore and doing more tests NOW!... IAMS is NOT saying much yet. Just calling OWNERS of DOGS that thier food poisoned!

I think it's horrible the way so many animals have died due to tainted food. What it is with the world nowadays?! It's horrifying that almost every week something is tainted to hurt people or animals!!! Just horrifying!!!
I still find it hard to believe Hannah died. I became so attached to my members' furkids that I truly do take it personal. It's so sad. I still can't believe Angus died as well and Buffy and so many others.
I send you a hug Rosemary How are your other furkids doing? Open up a new post.
Thanks Barbi & Same to you & yours, my friend! I had just found out a couple of days ago, that many dogs died in Israel as well as in the USA. We still GRIEVE the LOSS of OUR HANNAH, but we have rescued many dogs since in Her MEMORY, We know that she WOULD like that! IT is really amazing that Baby acts so much like Hannah too!~(I did open another link in the GATHERING Place)
