Hi, we're so glad you're
visiting.
Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.
The CFP Forum is officially "inactive"
-- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it. All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.
Just wanted to post a note about my friend Gail who just before Christmas, lost her dog Dainty and her four birds in a fire that left Gail homeless. Her Italian Greyhound, Dainty, was not only her beloved dog, but her best friend as well. Gail is terminally ill and depended on Dainty for love, emotional support, and so many other things. Dainty had a way of knowing when Gail was feeling down or ill and he would go to her and play and do funny things to make her laugh. The thought of losing her pets is bad enough, but when she thinks of how they died and how they must have suffered before dying, she really gets depressed and cries all the time. I'm hoping that you wonderful members of CFP reach out to her with some words of comfort so that I can print out your messages and take them to her, since she can't access CFP anymore due to her computer burning down as well. Thank you all and God bless. Martha (Missy's mom)

Gail, this is Barbi. How I have missed seeing you around work. I'm so sorry to hear of what happened. I was in total shock when I heard the news of what happened, but thank God you were not hurt. The thought of losing a pet like that is horrible. I pray that God gives you comfort knowing Dainty is at peace at the Rainbow Bridge. Please know that everyone at work remembers you fondly always, for your bubbly and cheery personality. You are such a nice and sweet person. God bless, Barbi.

I'm new to this site. But anyone who loses their best friend, I know is hurting inside. I have lost 5 animals and its so hard, especially when you're attached. It may sound unthinkable, but i learned the best way to grieve, is to find yourself another great pet. although it seems like you're "replacing", you know deep down inside you can never replace a person or animal. but think of it more this way, you will see so many traits of your old pup coming out. it's almost like God sends half the personality along with your new friend to help you through it.
whatever you choose, i am sorry for your loss. i know it feels like part of you is missing, and i wish somehow we could all help you fill that void. take care and be strong and just remember how many people are here for you!
Gail, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. If I could trade places with you during this time, I would...I have lost three pets in the last 6 years, even though it was very hard, I came to a point when I could be so thankful for them having been in my life and the joy and love they gave me. That is something I will always treasure. I will pray for you during this time.

Gail, i didn't get to meet you (i only joined recently) but i hope i'll get a chance to. i'm so sorry about your loss and your illness i pray things will improve for you. i know there's nothing that can comfort you in this time, the pain of loosing a best friend is the same as loosing a child . so if you ever need someone to talk to,listen or if there's anything i can do for you this is my e-mail anony_mous_surfer@hotmail.com
i hope i'm not upsetting you by saying this but i want to leave you with this thought ...you probably heard that "all dogs go to heaven" - well this is where the saying comes from according to our faith (it's true believe it) clowns, jesters and all creatures that make others feel good go directly to heaven without passing any stops on the way. that means your birds and Dainty (who made you feel better) they DIDN'T pass hell on the way to heaven. you can be sure they DIDN'T SUFFER and now they are in the best place they can be.
maybe you should follow their example and make a new friend feel better by giving him/her a good home. (just a suggestion) my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Hi Gail, I'm sure that you miss your little ones very much, they become so important to us, they give us so much, and when they are not there it leaves and undescribable hole in our hearts. I believe that you may want to think about adopting and there by saving another dogs life. There are many rescues & shelters. I believe that when we hurt, if we came do good like adopting, it speeds our own healing. What ever your decision is do remember, that the Lord is there with you, and He LOVES you. He Created pets for our pleasure. I pray that your heart will heal quickly.
