Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

I bathe them about 1-2 times a month(so you don't ruin their coats). Grooming though is a priority! It isn't my favorite thing to do but it has to be done. About 2-3 times a week to prevent knots(they have ALOT of hair). Smile

Wave2 Hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad you have a Maltese. I'm gonna drive you crazy asking questions. I'm getting a little Mal in a few days (she's not old enough to come home with me yet) and I CAN'T WAIT! lol

I want to put a bow on her hair and paint her nails pretty and just make her look pretty all the time plus I want to take a zillion pictures. What shampoo do you use? Awww, I want to see what yours looks like. You have pictures. You have two? Wow

I use Magic Coat PUPPY shampoo. Yes puppy shampoo even for the big 6yr. old. When I had Chester and he turned 1 I bought the adult version but he began smelling like a dog(not a pleasant smell). When I went back to the puppy shampoo it went away and he was odorless. (By the way the bottle is blue and has what looks like a maltese puppy on the front). I buy it at Petsmart or Pet-supermarket. Smile

I'll be glad to answer any questions.... but when you first get it home they like to cry ALOT. The way you can help is get and open topped cardboard box (tall enough so they cannot jump out). Then place it by your own bed and(what I did) was leave your hand hanging down on top of the box and a peep didnt come out. Once i took my hand away the cries began so back in the box my hand went.

I just told my dad to buy me that. THANKS! I can't wait. Now I have a problem. I dunno what I'm gonna name her. hmmmm My brother says to wait 'til everybody sees her so they can give us ideas. I like the name Bubbles, but I dunno if that's good for a Mal.

Hey everyone, give me at least 3 names u think are cool for a tiny white Mal. Clap

Aw, your Mals are soooooooo pretty HugHug
My dad is getting my Mal from this lady in Brandon, Florida, but it's still too young (she's gonna be 6 1/2 weeks tomorrow) so I can't bring her home until she's, the lady said, 8 to 10 weeks. I think I'll name her Daisy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for thinking about that. That name is very pretty and I think it will suit her just fine. Hey, maybe when I get my Mal we can meet and take pics together. My dad is trying to come up with the money for a new digital camera so I take a zillion pics. I'm so ~~happy~~.

I love Malteses! They are soo adorable. i love when they keep the puppy cuts. The blue shampoos keep their coats nice and white, and you have to keep cleaning their eyes from tear stains. I get this with my chis also, but I know malteses are quite prone to this. I met a man with two Am. Eskimos with the softest whitest coats. I asked how he keeps it that way and he told me their coats kept getting better and better after he installed a soft water (hard water minerals filter system) for the whol House. then the water they bathe and drink from were all soft, clean water and they never get tears stains!

heartjest Hi there! I love my little Maltese. I've had her for 2 years. Her name is Bridget, and she was a persent for my 18th birthday from my parents. I couldn't live without her, she's my companion. I can't turn around without seeing her standing right behind me. I would love to see pictures of anyone else's Maltese.
