Hi, we're so glad you're
visiting.
Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.
The CFP Forum is officially "inactive"
-- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it. All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.
You all know Buffy, our webmaster. She is a beautiful example of a long coat Chihuahua. I own several smooth coat Chihuahuas, and they are beautiful animals also. The Chihuahua makes an excellent pet, a wonderful companion, and a very, very good friend. The devotion that they give their owners is unsurpassed in the canine kingdom, in my opinion. To know a Chihuahua is to love a Chihuahua.

Janie After I saw sweet little Buffy on another forum I made up my mind that I wanted a Chi. Shortly after I found out my daughter's sister-in-law's Chi had puppies. So I bought a smooth coat baby from her. I was totally elated and she was so much fun. I brought her home Dec. 5th of last year. Dec. 15th I got a letter from the home owner's association where I live that I had too many animals and I was going to be fined unless I did something about it. Well I wrote a letter back and told them to (in so many words) stuff it. Well Dec 31st, I got a little visit from Animal Control and they informed me that I was to be fined 100.00 for having too many cats (I have 4). I paid the fine, got my little Chi licensed and everything was OK until I got another letter from the Homeowners Assoc telling me that for every day I was not in compliance, I would be fined $3.00 per day until I got into compliance. I finally decided to return my little Chi to the breeder. I lost my $300 that I paid for her. She is still with the breeder, but not taken care of as well as I hoped. I had my Condo on the market to sell, but took it off the market just the other day due to some stress factors. Hopefully some day I can have another Chi. I loved her very much and yes, what a super companion and they are so very smart!!!. Such a big wonderful heart of a dog in such a little body. Thought you might like to hear a little of my story.

Hey everyone, my Kito is also a smooth coat chichi. Ive had him about 3 1/2 years now. He definitely is my baby. Every knows that my chichi is like my child and know that they have to treat him as such... lol... No Joke! Chichis make amazing companions. They are so witty, kind hearted, and they make great family dogs. I remember when I bought him from the puppy store, the owner told me that chichis were only good for people who dont have kids or people who basically live alone. I really didnt have a problem because I dont have kids and I basically did live alone. But my Kito has truly prove all those theories about Chihis wrong. I have 3 beautiful neices and 2 nephews, and my chichi goes bezerck when they come over to spend the weekend. The little of my nephews is about 2 years old, so he really doesnt know what he should or shouldnt do doggies. But he just grabs my Kito by the tail, plays with his ears, grabs him by the snout, and till this day, my Kito has never acted out against it. He just keeps on jumping and running around playing with the kids. Recently, I decided to bring a kitten into my home which you all might know her as Mink. And Kito has been wonderful with her too. Kito doesnt give me any troubles at all. They make great FANILY pets!! And I cant imagine myself without my Kito... Id definitely recommend a Chichi to anyone with enough love to give and even more to receive!

Mary Gene, I remember the day in that other forum when you told me you had to return little Tess; it really was heartbreaking and my heart ached for you. That must have been so hard to do! Just thinking about me makes me feel worse than the flu I'm battling with right now.
I know you're meant to have a Chi someday. She/he is out there waiting for you and when the time is right, the two of you will connect. I really believe that.
ELY, we'll be featuring KITO in the upcoming weeks. He's such a cutie!

I am so so sorry that you had to give up your beloved Chihuahua. It must have really broken your heart. So sorry also that she is not good to your baby. I feel so bad for you. One day, another chi will enter your life, and it will help to fill the void that she left.

Chihuahuas are the most amazing dogs. They give so much love, it is unbelievable. They bond to you like a child. If anyone wants a small dog just to be your best friend, the Chihuahua is the dog for you.......Beth

I agree with everyone here. Althought every dog in the world is special, pure breed or mixed, there is a special place for the little smooth coats and all chi's. A breed amongst themselves that bring love, tenderness & joy that is only known by other chi lovers!
If you don't have a chi.....get one....you'll become an addict like me!
