Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

I'm trying to get my friend to let me have her Siberian Husky can anyone point me to a site I can find out all the info on these dogs. I live in Texas I know these dogs are more cold weather dogs, I'm affraid he's going to have a heat stroke in the bad conditions he's in right now and she is still telling me they have to think about it before letting me have him. he's tied to a fence with no water most the time only when they give it to him. he has no shade to go to when he's tied up I need something I can print out and take to her that tells their requirements. Thanks for any help.

We'll she said her husband just can't make up his mind right now because one of their daughters really loves him, thing is these people are like family to my husbands family my friends mom is like his mom and she's like a sister. I reassured her there is no way that we'd just lose contact or something. and her Chlidren come over here to play often. My big deal is that the summer gets sooo hot and we have Hail and rain and he can't get into his dog house it's across the yard. he set there the entire night on a chain when we had a storm come in the middle of the night. They don't have shade trees in their yard or anything. I have planted plants in my back yard with shade and they have died even with me watering them now how is this dog that is sitting in full sun not going to die? ok I'll stop writing I'm wayyyy too upset. If they will not let me take him I'm going to try and offer to help with some training for the dog and try and set things up a little better. if they'll let me.

Mommybop, situations like those really get me worked up!! How old is the child that they say loves the dog so much? She should be taught to give him fresh water, love and affection, AND protection from the elements. It's heartbreaking to hear stories about pets tied with a chain in the backyard. What a miserable and disgusting life to have!! I hope you convince them to give the dog to you. Keep nagging the daylights out of them and they just might do that. You're doing good, hun. Smile Be proud of yourself.

Very heartbreaking. That is sooo unfair to the dog. That just disgusts me that people can be so cruel. I mean if you are going to get a pup, you should take care of it. It isn't that hard and is a lot of funSmile Who knows, some people are just from a different planet I guess. That really puts you in a tough situation beings they are close people to you & your family. Can you call the animal cops on them and just not give them your name, if they won't cooperate and give you the dog?? Or make an effort to make the dog's life better.

Their daughter is 7 and her Grandmother is trying to work with her on giving the dog fresh water and food and reported to me that she did this on her own the other day. I have contacted Aspca by e-mail and have heard nothing back yet. I reported them to our local animal control as I said before about another situation but they really did nothing about it.I have been considering things I might be able to do to help with him at their house. I'm going to give my friend a stearn talking to when she comes back from her vacation. this may end our friendship but I'm really upset. Her mother Called me Friday and asked me if I was supposed to feed the dog over the weekend and I told her I offered but she never agreed to it really, then she told me that she didn't even call anyone apparently to take care of the dog and just left him tied to a fence for the weekend. my friends mom is going to take care of him but I'm tired of being nice about it. She's leaving her little girl in charge of a life and thats not cool! as parents we have to be responsible for our animals even if they are bought for the children. when I was a kid I always had dogs one was bought as a Chrismas gift but my parents did all the care and we did the play, even that has to be taught by the adults though. well I'll get off my soap box now maybe the Aspca will get involved in this I don't know. This is Texas I'm starting to think that people can do what ever the heck they want here to the animals.

I have 3 Sibes of my own and they do require alot of water and shade in any kind of weather.
Maybe you can suggest to your friend to at least provide him with a small children swimming pool and move his house closer to him.
I do sometimes have to tie mine up when i leave because they can be great escape artists but never when i am home...they are always aloud off the leash and their leash is in the shade.
Ask your friend how she would feel tied up out there to the fence in the direct sunlight. I havea poem on my web site i urge you to print it out and have your friend read it.
