Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

Hi Everyone!

I just thought I'd share a cute story/moment about my Papillon, Colby. I've always thought Papillons were intelligent, but this just had me amazed.

Once a week my Papillon and I go to my Piano lesson, and during the lesson he sits on my teachers lap. My teacher is his number one fan. Wink

Anyway, Colby LOVES listening to the piano. Each time I play he curls up and takes a snooze either on my lap or besides me. His favorite song is "Moonlight Sonata". lol Big Grin

Well, last night we were watching "The Pianist" with Adrian Brody (sp?). What a fabulous movie, if you haven't seen it, definitely check it out! Back to the point of my story, at the very end of the movie the camera zooms in on the Pianist's hands and it goes off into a Piano solo. Colby, who was sitting on my lap, stared at the TV screen for a good minute, just listening and enjoying it. I thought it was adorable. He turns around... looks at me... then STARES at MY piano as if to say "I bet you can't play that song, Mom!" It was hilarious. A little insulting, but still funny.

He went back to looking at the TV screen, happily listening, and then would glance at my Piano many more times. I was so shocked he could associate the noise from the Piano on TV belonging to my Piano in the room.

This went on back and forth until the credits ended. I was speechless. Once the movie stopped, he hopped off the couch and sat next to my piano almost asking me to play. So, of course I had to play his favorite song while he slept. Big Grin

This really had no point... lol but I thought it was cute. What a smart cookie Colby is! Razz

Colleen, Colby not only sounds smart, he sounds classy as well if he likes classical music. Moonlight Sonata has always been one of my favorite pieces. Do not be surprised if one of these days when you are playing the piano, he starts howlings as if to sing. I actually met a Basset Hound who would howl as though singing every time his owner played the piano.

Colby sounds adorable.
