Hi, we're so glad you're visiting.  Welcome to the CFP Pet Community.

The CFP Forum is officially "inactive" -- I am exhausted and just cannot keep up with it.  All our wonderful moderators and buddies who wholeheartedly participated with me in this forum also have busy lives and -- one could say -- we all got burned out talking about our fur-kids for years. It got to be pretty addicting, but life and reality has now taken over. I love you guys -- enjoy reading the posts OR if you want to register and say hello, please do not expect an immediate response or a lot of replies. God bless and please take care of your fur-kids.

We were out one night in September a few years back. Johnny was putting the food on top where he feeds the street babies. I looked across the street and under a car I saw a cat. Couldn't make her out at first so I crossed over carefully. She was a big girl, white and black angora I think is what her breed is. Anyhow, you could see she was out there for a while. She was so dirty and she had a flea collar on her that was grayish-black. I guess the first thing I noticed about her was that, even under those circumstances, she was sitting there with such dignity. I called her "Princess" because of it. I called to her but she was very shy. She gave out with a cracked sounding "meow". It almost sounded unsure as if she was saying: "Can I trust you?" Eventually she did come over. She wouldn't eat the cat food (the little Princess Smile) so I ran upstairs to get some salmon that I had on hand. She loved it. We pet her very carefully and she let us. Then she walked away in the night. I couldn't help but cry. She was such a lovely creature and I could not get her out of my mind. We saw her again a few weeks later and tried to replace her old flea collar with a new one we had bought her. We successfully removed the old crispy collar but could not keep her still long enough to put the new one on securely and again she walked away in the night. Again the tears so I asked Johnny (we already had 10 upstairs) if we could take her up next time we see her and he said yes. About a month later we spotted her from the window so we ran downstairs with the cat carry and scooped her up. She is most definitely a Princess. A gentle and lovely girl.

I wanted to put a picture of her with the story but there is no option for that here so I will post her picture on "Cats". Thanks for asking Maya.

Our Pippi is a dainty little girl and this kitty makes me think of her. Especially the part about the salmon. Pip gets a huge spoonful of salmon with her food every morning, and if I put the food bowl down with no salmon, she looks up at me with the most pitiful meow. So I make sure I always have salmon for her.

Thanks Barbie and Mechele. Pipi, very cute name. I'm not sure how to post a link to her picture Barbie. It was over at Cat pictures I think but I am not sure. I'll post one there now.
